Travellers move on from farm - Cornwall

From the Cornish Guardian

A GROUP of Travellers who forced their way onto a council-owned farm in Horningtops, Liskeard, last week have left the town.

Inspector Tony Joslin said: "They just decided they didn't want to be with us anymore."

After a week of them being on the site, the council served notice to the Travellers, which seemed to persuade the group to move on, Mr Joslin said.

Mr Joslin explained that the police were powerless to remove the Travellers until a notice to quit had been formally issued by the landowner or the tenant.
