Arsonists have torched a mobile home at the Smithy Fen Travellers’ site in Cottenham.
Two crews spent more than an hour fighting the fire, which started at about 5.15pm on Saturday.
A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said they received several calls about the incident. She said: “Two hose reels were used. The crews were using a hydrant to fight the fire and they requested the attendance of the electricity board. The stop message was received at 6.27pm.”
The cause of the fire was deliberate, it emerged today. No-one suffered serious injuries.
