Travellers return to Haverhill - Suffolk

From the Haverhill Echo

A group of Travellers who were evicted from a park in Haverhill last year have returned to the town.

The three families pitched their four caravans up the green space at the front of Haverhill Retail Park off Park Road, home to Halford and B&Q.

Last year the group was expelled from park land off Bergamot Road, which St Edmundsbury Borough Council subsequently spent £25,000 fencing off to prevent them from returning to.

This time the Travellers arrived yesterday (Monday, June 3) afternoon, and say they will stay until they are evicted.

The family have said they do now want a permanent site but Suffolk is their home and there is nowhere for them to go in the county.
