Residents relieved at U-turn on Gypsy camp - Aberdeenshire

From the Press and Journal

A CONTROVERSIAL bid to set up a Travellers’ camp in the north-east countryside has been ditched, the Press and Journal can reveal.

Farmer Bob Ritchie stunned residents near Banff with plans to establish a dedicated stopover site for gypsy convoys on their doorstep.

The 58-year-old tabled the proposal with Aberdeenshire Council after he was blocked from building his dream retirement home on the same site.
