TRAVELLERS camped on a former school playing field in Cleethorpes have been issued with court summons.
Three caravans and various other vehicles have been parked on the former Lindsey School playing field, off Taylors Avenue, at the weekend.
The Travellers were served with a notification to leave by North East Lincolnshire Council yesterday but failed to do so.
It means legal proceedings have now begun.
Cllr Chris Shaw, Leader of North East Lincolnshire Council said: "A summons has today been delivered requiring them to attend Grimsby Magistrates' Court on Thursday morning.
"This follows the Direction to leave the site that was issued on Monday."
