Travellers set up camp in Beddington Park - London

From Your Local Guardian

A large group of caravans has arrived on Beddington Park.

The Travellers arrived at the popular beauty spot yesterday and it is believed the police and council are taking action to move them away.

In recent weeks caravans have been removed from several spots around the borough including Roundshaw Park and the car park of the old Worcester Park Tavern pub.

The latest invasion prompted outrage on Twitter with users calling for more to be done to prevent caravans being parked on public areas.

One tweeter, Paul Hooper, messaged Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake and Sutton Council leader Councillor Ruth Dombey to say: "Travellers AGAIN in Beddington Park. REALLY!!!! A Permanent solution needs to be found QUICKLY."
