HOURS after travellers were kicked off a farmer’s land in Shoreham, another group caused “considerable damage” by setting up camp in Lancing.
A group of Travellers broke a fence to get onto Beach Green last Wednesday (June 13) and have still not left the site, despite Lancing Parish Council gaining a court order giving them notice to leave by noon on Saturday, June 16.
Because the order was ignored by the Travellers, the parish council has needed to go through the full court procedure of enforcement, which will take between two and three weeks.
