Council tells Travellers to leave - again - Lincolnshire

From the Grimsby Telegraph

COUNCIL officers are looking at a repeat of last week to try and move the same Travellers off a different bit of land.

The Travellers were served notice to leave the privately owned Peaks Top Farm land, off Hewlitt’s Avenue, New Waltham, today by North East Lincolnshire Council (NELC) officers.

A council spokesman said: “They were served a direction to leave today and tomorrow will be summoned to a court appearance on Thursday unless they move on.”

The Travellers were given a direction to leave on Monday and on Thursday, council officers gained a court order to remove the Travellers "immediately".

However, they were given an extra day to leave and finally did so on Friday - onto private land in New Waltham.

Now, NELC, who have agreed to help the land owner, are going through the legal motions again.
