From Bedford Today
Plans for the Fairhill Gypsy and Travellers site were thrown out by Borough Hall planners on Monday night.
Bedford Borough Council’s planning committee took a vote on the proposal for a 14- pitch site in Bedford.
Speaking after the meeting Deputy Mayor Charles Royden said: “Fairhill has been refused planning permission. However, the borough council has planning permission in place for a Gypsy and Traveller site at Meadow Lane. We have done a great deal in Bedford to provide pitches with six additional pitches provided at Kempston Hardwick and a temporary Traveller stopping place now completed at Meadow Lane.”
