Travellers who set up home in Crawley car park move on

From the Crawley News

A group of Travellers who had set up camp in a Crawley car park have moved on this afternoon.

Six caravans and several other vehicles managed to get into the locked car park, close to County Oak Retail Park on Sunday night.

The car park, in Amberley Court, off Whitworth Road, is normally used by employees of nearby businesses.

A witness told the News he saw a female Traveller urinating in a bush on Monday.

The vehicles moved in at 9.10pm on Sunday.

Children were riding bicycles around the car park as people arrived for work the next morning.

On Monday the company that owns the site served the Travellers with a notice to leave, giving them until midday today (Tuesday) to do so.

At midday they were still there but left later this afternoon.
