Councillors decide existing Gypsy site will be permanent - Bedfordshire

A FAMILY Gypsy site will remain as such for the forseeable future.

At a meeting of Central Beds Council’s development management committee on Wednesday (February 29) councillors granted permission for the continued use of land behind 197 Hitchin Road in Arlesey as a residential caravan site for six Gypsy families.

Permission has been granted to transfer the current planning permission from a temporary to a permanent status.

The site has six pitches and can accommodate 12 caravans. It is used by the family of the applicant, Mr Rooney. The site also includes hardstanding, utility blocks and landscaping.

Access is still via the existing entrance to 197 Hitchin Road.
