Platt Traveller at the centre of High Court test case - Kent

FIVE Travellers, one of them from Platt and the others from Tadworth, Horley, Windsor and Chertsey, are at the centre of a High Court test case being watched closely by local authorities and the travelling fraternity throughout the country.

The five have banded together in a David and Goliath battle with Communities Secretary Eric Pickles. They accuse him of wrongly refusing them planning permission for pitches against the recommendations of his own planning inspectors.

Mr Justice Lewis, was asked at the court in London today to quash Mr Pickles’ decisions in the five cases, and to order him to reconsider each application.
