FATHER-OF-FOUR Barry Smith was horrifically beaten to death "simply because he was a Gypsy", say his family.
The 48-year-old's former wife and their children have called his death a "race killing".
Three people were yesterday sentenced to life, with a recommendation they serve a total of 52 years, for Mr Smith's murder.
