Decision imminent on Brigg Gypsy/Traveller caravan site 'of significant public interest' - Lincolnshire

From This Is Scunthorpe

A meeting in Scunthorpe tomorrow (Wednesday, Sept 19) will decide whether a caravan site in Brigg for Gypsy/Traveller families should be approved.

Planning permission is being sought to retain change of use of land off Mill Lane for the stationing of caravans, plus hard-standing, amenity blocks, fencing and landscaping.

The application relates to 12 plots for occupation by Gypsy/Traveller families.

North Lincolnshire Council's planning committee - made up of elected councillors from across the district - will consider whether to grant permission when it meets at Scunthorpe Civic Centre, off Ashby Road, from 2pm.

This meeting is open to interested members of the public, with printed agendas helpfully available on the day to make it easier to follow the proceedings.

Brigg Town Council has lodged an objection to permission being granted for the caravans, and North Lincolnshire planners class this application as being of significant public interest.

It is also considered to be a major application.
