Travellers who set up camp on Bedworth cricket pitch given 24 hours to leave - Warwickshire

From the Coventry Telegraph

A group of Travellers who set up a camp on a Bedworth cricket pitch have been given 24 hours to leave the site.

A number of caravans moved on to Heckley playing fields, off Coventry Road, some time on Tuesday and Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council has been informed.

It is now believed that the travellers have moved off the cricket pitch – home to Collycroft Cricket Club – but are still on land at the Heckley.

A spokesman for the borough council said: “We have served the Travellers with a 24-hour notice to leave the site.

“If they do not leave within 24 hours then we will pursue a court order to have them removed.”
